History

Alcester Broach is one of only two remaining companies with an actual UK manufacturing base specialising in all areas of broach tool manufacture and broaching services. We have over 50 years of experience, with countless man-hours dedicated to our industry. We know what it takes to design and manufacture tools that perform, accurately and consistently.
We have clients that have been with us since the beginning, testament to the hard work we put in to building and maintaining professional and close working relationships with attention to detail. We have a pride in precision at all levels.

Alcester Broach has a rich heritage born from the largest broach company in Europe at the time, and one of the largest in the world, the BSA Broach Company. Founded by Mr I J Gerrard in 1967, who had also previously worked for one of the greatest names in broaching, "Old Man Weatherley" of the Weatherley Broach Company, later Cincinnati Weatherley, of Biggleswade, Beds.

Many of the people who joined the newly formed Alcester Broach were also trained at the BSA, a company that at one time they had over 200 apprentices alone, and subsequently worked to retirement alongside new members of the broach making family helping with training and passing on their years of skills, knowledge, and experience learned in this highly specialised industry.

Alcester Broach continues to be run to present day by second generation family members.
